Workshop: Home Canning with Confidence at Lexington Community Farm

Afton will return to Lexington Community Farm to help you learn how to preserve the harvest to enjoy year-round! This workshop will include a guided walking tour of the LexFarm fields to identify produce that can be canned and preserved at home and a demonstration of boiling water bath canning from start to finish. The class will cover food safety, canning do’s and don’ts, and recommended equipment and resources, and is open to beginners just getting started as well as experienced canners seeking to refresh their skills and knowledge. You’ll leave with recipes and resources to can and preserve at home safely and confidently this growing season.
